# Expiry policy

> Credits and gift codes expire 150 days after purchase. Here's why, and how to track it.

## The policy

* Purchased credits and gift codes **expire 150 days after purchase**.
* Expiry is tracked per purchase (per *lot*): redeeming a code does **not** reset its clock.
* Expired credits are removed from the wallet and cannot be restored, refunded, or
  converted to cash.

## Why 150 days?

Short, predictable expiry is what lets TokenGift stay simple and lightweight as a service —
including how gift instruments are regulated. It also keeps gifts what they're meant to
be: fuel to use, not a stored asset.

## Tracking expiry

* The dashboard lists every lot in your wallet with its remaining amount and expiry date.
* The soonest-expiring lot is highlighted next to your balance.
* Spending draws from the soonest-expiring lot first (FIFO), automatically minimizing waste.
